Have you recently made a change to your iphone service or SIM? Sometimes when you do this there is an error with your voicemail. The issue can be easily fixed by making sure you've logged in correctly to your voicemail:
Step 1: Go to “Settings" on your iPhone and go to the “Phone" section
Step 2: Scroll down and hit "Change Voicemail Password"
Step 3: This should trigger a voicemail login popup alert where you can enter the proper voicemail password The red dot icon should now turn into a regular notification badge with a number in it, indicating how many new voicemails you have.
