How Do I Cancel My AnyTime Fitness Membership?

If you have a membership at Anytime Fitness but find that you do not need to go to the gym anymore or that you just can't make it in, then you need to learn how to cancel your Anytime Fitness membership. Read on to learn more.

Anytime Fitness' Cancellation Policy

Cancellation requirements change based on whether or not you are trying to cancel within the Minimum Term. The Minimum Term is the minimum length of time you are obligated to gym for the membership you purchased. The length of the Minimum Term can vary from gym to gym. To find out what yours is, look in your membership agreement.

If you are trying to cancel your membership before the Minimum Term has expired, you can do so if you pay the Administration fee, which is equal to 30 days' worth of membership fees. You only qualify for this type of cancellation if have come down with a serious illness or have acquired a permanent physical incapacity. The illness or injury has to be confirmed by a doctor. Anytime Fitness has the right to object to the doctor you have selected.

If you are trying to cancel your membership before the Minimum Term has expired and you do not have a serious illness or permanent physical incapacity, you must pay the Cancellation Fee which is either 50% of the balance that is due for the remainder of the Minimum Term or 30 days of membership fees, whichever is higher.

You do not have to pay a cancellation fee or provide notice of cancellation if the reason for your cancellation is due to the gym breaking an essential term of your agreement or because you have gone bankrupt. You can cancel with 30 days' notice if you move to a location 15 km away or more from the gym and supply proof. In All these cases, you will not be eligible for a refund of the fees paid to date.

If you are trying to cancel your membership after the minimum term has expired, you only need to provide the gym with 30 days written notice.

Canceling Your Membership

Write a letter requesting cancellation and explaining your reasons why you are canceling. If relevant, include a note from your doctor. Mail the letter to your personal Anytime Fitness gym. If your location is using the ABC Financial billing company, you also need to send them a copy of the letter.

If you have any questions, contact Anytime Fitness directly. Its customer service department has a phone line, but no other means of contact.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for AnyTime Fitness Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
