How Do I Setup Two Factor Authorization on My Cash App Account?

Two-factor authentication is a great way to protect your account from fraud and unauthorized access. However, it's important to note that it's not foolproof. If someone has access to your Authy app and knows your Cash App login credentials, they will still be able to log in to your account.

Cash App is one of the most popular mobile payment platforms globally. It allows users to send and receive money instantly with just a few taps on their smartphones. Cash App offers a two-factor authentication (2FA) feature to protect your account from fraud and unauthorized access. This means that you will also need to enter a code generated by an authenticator app to log in to your account in addition to your password. If you're not already using 2FA on your Cash App account, we highly recommend that you enable it as soon as possible. Here's a step-by-step guide on setting up 2FA on your Cash App account.

Use the Cash App Website

If you're using a computer, you can enable 2FA by going to the Cash App website and logging in to your account.

  1. Once you log in, click on the "Account" tab and select "Security."

  2. On the Security page, scroll down to the Two-Factor Authentication section and click on the "Enable Authy" button.

  3. Once you've enabled Authy, you will need to download the Authy app on your smartphone. The Authy app is available for both iOS and Android devices. After downloading and installing the Authy app, open it and click on the "Add Account" button.

  4. On the next screen, select "Cash App" from the list of supported platforms.

  5. You will then enter your Cash App login credentials (email address and password).

  6. Once you've entered your login information, Authy will generate a unique 6-digit code that you will need to enter to log in to your Cash App account.

Call customer support if you have any problems.

Use the Cash App Mobile App

If you're using the Cash App mobile app, you can enable 2FA by going to the Settings tab and selecting "Security."

  1. On the Security page, scroll down to the Two-Factor Authentication section and toggle on the "Enable Authy" option.

  2. Once you've enabled Authy, you have to open the Authy app and add your Cash App account.

  3. Click on the "Add Account" button and select "Cash App" from the list of supported platforms.

  4. You will be prompted to enter your Cash App login credentials (email address and password).

  5. After you've entered your login information, Authy will generate a unique 6 -digit code that you will need to use to log in to your Cash App account.

  6. Once you've generated the 6-digit code, head back to the Cash App website or mobile app and enter the code in the required field. Once you've entered the correct code, you will be logged in to your account.

Why Use Two Factor Authentication?

Two-factor authentication is an important security measure that everyone should use, regardless of the service or website. By enabling 2FA, you're adding an extra layer of protection to your account. This means that even if someone manages to steal your password, they won't be able to log in to your account unless they also have access to your Authy app.

While 2FA is a great way to protect your account, it's important to note that it's not foolproof. For this reason, it's essential to use a strong and unique password for your Cash App account. If you have any questions about account security, you can call customer support.
