How do I install my new modem from Comcast?

A simple 9 step guide for solving this common Comcast problem quickly and effectively by GetHuman

Step 1: Plug the power adapter into the back of the modem and and then into the wall
Step 2: Plug the ethernet cable into the back of the modem and connect the opposite into your ethernet wall adapter.
Step 3: Connect your computer directly into the modem with the ethernet cable
Step 4: Open any internet browser on your computer
Step 5: Once the web page opens it will direct you straight to the "Activation Welcome" page. If the page does not open then you can go to and click "Continue"
Step 6: Enter the Xfinity account number and your phone number from your activation information card. In the case that you have already registered then you need to use your username and password.
Step 7: Enter a username and password, agree to the Terms and Conditions then click "Continue". Note: Your username becomes your email address for example [username]
Step 8: Choose your security questions and answers, again agree to the Terms and Conditions, then click "Continue".
Step 9: Load any webpage and it will immediately bring up a Xfinity window, click "Continue" Did that work? If "Yes" then you are all set! Hooray!
