As a DISH customer, you may have the option to make payment arrangements if you can't pay your bill by the due date. DISH provides this option to eligible DISH customers. For eligible customers, payment arrangements can be by taking a few simple steps online or through customer service.
Make Payment Arrangements Via Customer Service
If you don't want to make payment arrangements online or haven't set up an account, you can always call customer service to make these arrangements if you are eligible. Simply call DISH and identify your account with the appropriate information requested by customer service. Of course, you will need to ensure that you are a primary account holder or that you have privileges to make payment arrangements. Customer service will let you know what your options are and notate your account once you agree upon a payment date and amount.
Make Payment Arrangements Online
Eligible DISH customers also have the option to make payment arrangements online independent of customer service. Customers can do so by logging in to their MyDISH account. It should be noted that you can not complete this process online unless you have a registered MyDISH account. You can register for your online account and complete the payment arrangement process. Once completed, you can log into your MyDISH account and navigate to the account summary page and look for the billing section. Locate the Payment Extension tab and click on it. Your payment options will be displayed. Select your option and click submit. Typically, you will have as many as nine days to pay your bill without your DISH service being interrupted.
Customers can only request a payment extension once per billing period and this is usually accompanied by a fifteen dollar fee. Also, full balance payment must be made in full by the end of the extension date to prevent service interruption. The same steps can be followed even if your bill is already late.
Change Your Billing Due Date
If you fail to see a payment extension option when you log into your account and check the billing section, you may be ineligible. However, changing your billing due date may buy you some time. You can call customer service to request a change in your due date. This may be a smart option in addition to requesting a payment extension or, in lieu of requesting a payment extension if you are ineligible.
