How Do I Get a Refund from Digit?

If you feel that you have been charged wrongly by Digit, you can get a refund easily with these helpful tips.

Nov 5, 2019

Digit is a popular money-saving app that charges an annual subscription. Users enjoy a free 100-day intro period. If you feel that you have been charged wrongly, you can get a refund.

Overdraft Reimbursements

If you have received an overdraft from a transfer on Digit, you may be reimbursed. You need to report the overdraft to Digit as soon as possible. If their system locates the overdraft fee, you will be reimbursed. If, however, your overdraft fee is not located by the system, you may be asked to provide certain information. The customer care representatives will use the information to reimburse you.

You may be reimbursed for up to two different occurrences of account overdrafts. Note that Digit only provides reimbursement for overdrafts that are caused by their auto-saving transactions. You will not receive reimbursement for overdrafts that occur due to manual transactions that you initiate. You cannot get reimbursement if your account is no longer open and connected.

You may not always get reimbursement. It is issued at the discretion of the support team. If you do not have enough documentation, you may not get help.

Digit Subscriptions

If you have a Digit subscription, you agree that your account will be charged a monthly subscription fee. In exchange for the Digit Subscription Service Fee, you will receive analytics to identify the funds in your bank account that can be transferred to savings.

Unless you cancel your subscription, your account will be charged every month. If you are using the free trial, your account will automatically be charged at the end of the month. Unfortunately, it is not possible to get a refund for the monthly payments.

To avoid the extra charges, you should cancel your subscription before the end of your billing cycle. It is wise to cancel it three business days before the cycle ends.

If You Close Your Account

When you close your account, remaining funds are automatically transferred back to your checking account. Electronic transfers should arrive on the next day.

Your pending saves will also be returned when you close. If you close your account towards the end of the week, you will see the debits from Digit at the beginning of the net week.

If you have not yet closed the checking account that is associated with Digit, ensure that you text 'Withdraw' to Digit before fully closing out your checking account.

Once you disconnect your account from Digit, the remaining funds are withdrawn back to your originating checking account. You should, therefore, check to ensure that your checking account is open to receive the funds. When you reconnect with your new account, text 'Save.' This will move the funds back to Digit if you wish.

If you need help with your Digit refunds, you may seek help from the customer support team. It is not possible to speak directly with a representative as they do not offer support over the phone. Digit does not offer support on Live Chat, email, or help desk.

The best way to get support from Digit is on Twitter. Since conversations are public, you will get help fast. Digit tries to send you a reply as they can. When a representative is giving you a solution, they may choose to go to other alternatives.

Even though Digit does not have a phone number that you can use to contact them, GetHuman makes things easy for you. It connects you to members of the support team so you can get the help you need fast. It provides you and other Digit users with the tools and information you need to get a refund.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Digit Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Digit in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Get a Refund from Digit? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
