DirecTV: How do I sign up for new service?

You can sign up for new service online or over the phone. If you wish to sign up online, you can first go to this site https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/pepod/configure.jsp#package-section
Enter in your zip code and your email address to make sure that DirecTV is offered in your area.
Once you enter your zip code and can sign up for service, they ask you to call them at 888-795-9488 so you can discuss the latest deals and packages.
If you wait 15-30 seconds, the add to call them falls off the screen and you can see all of the current offerings in your area and can add them to your cart. Here's the part where you need to pick a plan. Once you do, add it to your cart.
Click "Continue to the next step"
If you want to add the HD pack or the sports pack, select one or both of those, then click "Take me to the next step"
Select the amount of DVR's you need
Add the protection plan, or skip that and click Next Step
Review your order then click Continue to Checkout
Verify your package and confirm your installation date and you should be all set!
