If you receive EBT benefits, the federal government does not guarantee you of any protection if your card is stolen. You must contact the customer support service as soon as you suspect that an unauthorized person has gained access to your account.
Protecting Your Benefits
Do not share your personal information with anyone. This includes your Social Security number, EBT card number, and EBT pin. Scammers may pretend to be EBT officials.
If you suspect that they may have gained access to your account, you must follow these steps to recover your account;
1. Contact the EBT Customer support team. Report that your card has been stolen. The support representatives will help you deactivate your card. No one can use a card after it has been activated. If you do not ask the support team to deactivate your account, the scammer may gain access to your benefits.
2. Contact the local agency worker and request an EBT ARU PIN Restriction. If you report the issue to your local agency worker, you must sign a permission form.
With this procedure, your local agency will make it impossible for anyone else to change your PIN over the phone, by reaching out to the customer service helpline, or on the Cardholder Account website.
Any changes to the PIN have to be initiated by you. When you need to change your pin, you must have the card with you at the local agency center.
At your request, the worker will give you a new card. Once you have a new card, you must use a new PIN selected at the agency. Do not write your PIN down where other people may access it. When entering your PIN at the machine, ensure that no one sees it. Your EBT card cannot work without a PIN.
If you enter your PIN incorrectly four times in a row, EBT will lock you out of your account. If that happens, you can recover your account on the next day.
Recovering Your EBT PIN
You can recover your PIN regardless of how you lost it. You may also change your PIN. There are two ways to recover or change your EBT PIN;
1. Visit a designated local county public assistance office. Ensure that the office you visit has PIN selection equipment. They will help you select a new PIN
2. You may contact the customer service team toll-free. Express your wish to recover or change your PIN and the support agents will help you.
Whichever option you choose, you must be willing to provide your identifying information. You can continue to use your EBT card after changing your PIN. If you want a new card, you have to make a request.
If you have any issues with EBT Benefits Service, you may seek help from their customer support service. The best way to contact EBT is on the phone. When you are connected with a representative, try to express your concern as accurately as possible. Provide them with any information that may support your request. It may be difficult to get help without all the relevant information.
When speaking with the support agents, you must be friendly and patient. Being nice is likely to yield better results than being rude. If a representative is unable to give you help on your first attempt, call back later and you may be connected with a different one. You may have to call a few times before getting help
With EBT Benefits Service, there is only one way to get support. They do not offer support on Facebook, Twitter, email, or the help desk.
