Frontier Airlines' Cancellation Policy

Frontier distinguishes between controllable and uncontrollable cancellations. A controllable cancellation is a cancellation that occurred because of events under the airline's control. Examples include mechanical issues, delayed flights, and delayed baggage. An uncontrollable cancellation is a cancellation that occurs because of events that are not under the airline's control. Examples include bird strikes, Air Traffic Control, and bad weather. Frontier offers full refunds for any unused portion of your ticket after a controllable cancellation. It does not offer any refunds for uncontrollable cancellations.

If Your Flight Gets Cancelled

Go to a Frontier Airlines desk and speak to the personnel there. They will try to find a way to get you to your destination on the next available Frontier flight. If they are unable to do so, you can request a refund.

How to Request a Refund

Online

  1. Go to Frontier's Feedback page.
  2. Enter your email address in the upper text field.
  3. Write "Cancellation Refund Request" in the text field below it.
  4. Select Refund Request from the drop down menu.
  5. Enter the flight number, flight date, departure city, arrival city, confirmation code, and Frontier Miles number in the fields under the menu. They are not necessary, but they can expedite the process.
  6. Enter any comments that you think are relevant in the text field near the bottom of the form.
  7. Attach any relevant documents using the button below it.
  8. Click on the Submit button.

By Phone

  1. Call Frontier's customer service number.
  2. At the first prompt say, "other options."
  3. At the second prompt say, "feedback and concerns."
  4. Explain your situation and request a refund from the customer service associate who answers your call.

By Mail
