If your Groupon isn't working, follow these few steps to make sure you have checked all the possible solutions.
Go to https://www.groupon.com/. Select 'Sign In' in the top right and log in to your account with your email and password.
Your name or your account name will appear on the upper right corner of the screen. Select the down arrow next to your name and select 'My Groupons.'
You will be redirected to a new page. This page automatically displays all your available Groupons. Right next to the word 'Deals' there is a drop-down arrow and 'Available' is the selected option. Click on the drop-down arrow and click on 'All.'
Select the Groupon you are having issues with by clicking on 'View Details.'
If you do not see the Groupon voucher you are having issues with here, this means it was not purchased. Your Groupon could be attached to another account. Check all your email inboxes to ensure you don't have a receipt for the Groupon voucher in a different email account.
Or, the payment could have not gone through. If the payment had not gone through, Groupon would have sent an email titled "NOTICE: Failed Transaction For Your Voucher." You can search your inbox for this email (including your spam folder).
Read the Fine Print to make sure that your Groupon hasn't expired or has terms on it that are preventing you from using it (such as the Groupon is limited to certain days out of the week).
If that is not the issue, and you are attempting to use your Groupon voucher on a merchant site, make sure that you are being redirected to the correct page on the merchant's website. The merchant could have a specific page for Groupon redemptions. The instructions for your Groupon are provided on the voucher page under 'How to Use.' It will include a URL link for the merchant, make sure to click on that.
Try to copy the voucher number directly from the Groupon voucher, and paste it into the merchant's site. This will ensure you are not missing a letter or number in the code.
If you are having trouble with your Groupon due to Merchant issues, you may have to contact Groupon for help. A few of the merchant issues you may encounter include:
You cannot get in touch with the merchant: After a merchant was featured on Groupon, they could have experienced a sudden increase in customers. Ensure you are using the contact information stated on your voucher for the merchant. Remember, some businesses have multiple locations and the Groupon could be applicable to a single location. If a week has gone by without the business responding to you, reach out to the Groupon Customer Support team to receive further assistance.
The business is no longer offering the promotion: If the business refuses to honor the promotion of your voucher, contact Groupon for assistance. Assuming the voucher is still valid, Groupon will ensure you either get a refund or still get the promotion. Reach out to the Groupon Customer Support team to receive further assistance.
The business is closed: Nothing lasts forever, and sometimes a merchant may have closed their business operations before you were able to redeem your voucher. You will need to reach out to the Groupon Customer Support team to receive further assistance. Sometimes Groupon can arrange for the voucher to be redeemed at a similar vendor, or will offer you a full refund, depending on what you prefer.
Groupon is a large and reputable organization. If you are unable to use your voucher, there is likely an explanation. And, if a merchant is unfairly refusing to redeem your voucher, rest assured Groupon will honor the deal.
After thousands of Groupon customers came to GetHuman in search of an answer to this problem (and many others), we decided it was time to publish instructions. So we put together What Do I Do If My Groupon Voucher Isn't Working? to try to help. It takes time to get through these steps according to other users, including time spent working through each step and contacting Groupon if necessary. Best of luck and please let us know if you successfully resolve your issue with guidance from this page.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Groupon in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What Do I Do If My Groupon Voucher Isn't Working? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
