How Do I Make a Lifeproof Warranty Claim?

This article describes how to make a warranty claim for consumer electronics accessories purchased from LifeProof. Detailed instructions are provided for filing the claim online for purchases made online. Instructions are also provided for warranty claims on items that were purchased from a store, which cannot have claims filed online.

LifeProof sells consumer electronics accessories and, with items that see such heavy use as personal electronics items do, there is going to be a certain amount of wear and tear on them even in a short period of time. If you need to submit a warranty claim to LifeProof, then just follow the instructions below. Remember that submitting the claim just means applying for a replacement or a refund. The company will not necessarily give you one in every case.

  1. Go to LifeProof's home page.
  2. Click on the Support tab on the navigation bar at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the Warranty link on the drop down menu that appears.
  4. Locate the product you are filing the warranty claim for. Once you have located it, click on it to select it. Alternately, you can enter the order number in the text field provided.
  5. Select the color your item came in.
  6. Write a complete description of the problem in the text field provided. Give a lot of detail about the problem you have with the product.
  7. Enter the serial number in the text box provided for it.
  8. Enter purchase date in the text box provided for it.
  9. Click on the Next button.
  10. Enter all of you customer information in the text fields provided. All of them are mandatory if you want the claim to be processed.
  11. Click on the Submit button.

Please note that if you want to be sure of getting a refund, then you need to make your return within 30 days of purchase, which is the period most LifeProof items are guaranteed for. Additionally, refunds take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks to process. If you are given a refund, a $5 service fee will be deducted from it.

If you bought you LifeProof item in a store instead of the company's website then you cannot use the procedure described above. Instead, you should return the item to the place where you purchased it. They will decide about the refund there.
