Dec 7, 2022

Every Nissan sold after 2016 comes with roadside assistance. Nissan roadside assistance is available for 36,000 miles or until 36 months from the date of delivery. Its benefits are accessible 24/7 and every day of the year.

Roadside Assistance Coverage

Nissan roadside assistance covers flat tires, dead batteries, emergency fuel service, mechanical breakdowns, vehicle lock-out service, and towing to the nearest Nissan dealership after an accident or collision. For the Nissan GT-R, roadside assistance coverage lasts for 60,000 miles or 60 months from the original date of delivery. Nissan towing coverage also lasts for 60,000 miles or 60 months for most Nissan models created after 2016.

Information You'll Need

When calling for Nissan roadside assistance, the road service phone agent will need some information in order to assist the best. You'll need to provide your name, call back phone number, vehicle identification number (VIN), location of disablement, the color of the vehicle, exact current mileage, and if you plan to stay with the vehicle until help arrives. For Nissan towing assistance, you'll also need to consider the name of the dealership you'd like to be towed to, if you plan to ride with the tow truck driver to the dealership, and if the vehicle will go into neutral gear. If you need to call back, the number you provided as your call back number will work as the reference number for the agent on the line.

Roadside Assistance For Electric Vehicles

Nissan vehicles that are equipped with a high-voltage battery pack require extra care after accidents in order to avoid electric shocks, fire, or other serious injuries. It's best to refer to the entire Nissan roadside assistance manual, but there are a few things to always remember:

  • Don't assume an electric vehicle is off just because it is quiet. If the "READY" indicator is on, the high-voltage system is active.
  • Contact first responders immediately if the vehicle is damaged and you're uncertain about the condition of the electrical system.
  • Avoid electric shock by not lifting the high-voltage battery zone.
  • Don't jump-start the high-voltage battery, especially if it's frozen. It may explode.
  • The high-voltage battery's electrolyte solution is highly flammable, toxic to breathe, and a skin irritant. Alert first responders and Nissan roadside assistance if you smell a sweet odor or see clear, watery fluid leaking from the vehicle.
  • It's important to repair an electric vehicle instead of storing it damaged. It's still possible for the vehicle to catch on fire when unattended.

In general, other features of the vehicle should work similarly to a conventional vehicle. The biggest difference is the heightened risk of fire, burns, or electric shocks after an accident.
