Phishing takes place when a fraudster attempts to collect financial information and/or personal data via phone or email. The fraudster can only get this information from you giving it to them, as they will request it verbally over the phone, through text messages, through unsolicited email, or by posting links with fake phone numbers to call on fake websites or on social media sites.
