Straight Talk: How do I troubleshoot my SIM card? It's saying it's invalid.

A simple 6 step guide for solving this common Straight Talk problem quickly and effectively by GetHuman

Before you get started, be sure you have: Phone number, Account PIN/Password

The first thing you can do is try to reset the network settings. This usually works in most occasions. You should try resetting all present network settings. To do so, go to Settings > General > Reset > select Reset Network Settings.

If that doesn't work, then try rebooting your handset by powering down the device and powering it back up. Most times this will fix a problem that could be just a glitch that goes away after the device has been rebooted. You can reboot by pressing and holding the sleep/wake key until the slider appears. Then with a swipe, you can switch off the device, and turn it on after 10-20 seconds.

Sometimes this can easily be fixed by toggling Airplane mode on and off. On your device, go to Settings, and then switch on the Airplane mode. Switch it off again after a bit and see if that fixes the network error.

Did none of these options work? Ok, lets keep going then. Next we can try and toggle your SIM card. Just switch off the device, remove the SIM card, after you get a message "No sim card installed" - insert your sim card again. Restart your phone and see if that gets rid of the message.

If all else fails, there is one more thing we can do. Unfortunately it requires resetting your phone to the factory settings. Before taking this step, backup your data to the Cloud or another storage device. Once you have your phone backed up, on your phone head over to Settings > General > select Reset > select Erase All Content and Settings

If you get to this point and none of these options work, then you will either need to call them directly for tech support as there could be an issue with either your phone or SIM card, or if there's a Straight Talk store nearby, take your phone in there and see if they can swap out your SIM card or phone.
