How do I lower my Time Warner Cable bill?

The most effective way to lower your bill is to pretend that you are canceling your service. A Time Warner Cable rep will then offer you amazing, low rate deals if you keep your service.
First, call Time Warner here. Say "cancel service" when the automated system asks what you are calling about. From there, your call will be forwarded to a customer retention call center.
You will be asked why you are canceling service. You want to emphasize "it costs too much" and you have "found a better deal" elsewhere. The representative will negotiate less service for a lower price. Be clear that you want the same service you had, but at a lower price. Be open to negotiation, but also be firm with what you want.
In the end, you will probably be offered a deal that is $30-$50 a month cheaper than what you previously paid. You never have to commit to a deal on the spot. You can always think about it and call back later. Remember, you're not going to get a cable package for free, but with a little negotiation you can easily save up to $600 a year on your cable package.
