TurboTax has a Satisfaction Guaranteed Refund Policy that allows you to request a refund if you are not fully satisfied with their product. TurboTax also accepts refunds if another software was able to provide you with a better refund. That is, you input your tax details into another software and it achieved a greater tax return or a lower tax payment that you owe. In either of these cases, TurboTax will refund you the cost of their software. The refund claim must be submitted within 60 days of your tax claim filing date, and no later than May 31st of each year.
To get your refund, simply fill out these steps:

3. You can fill out the form for customers who purchased a TurboTax CDs or desktop download, both of which are valid for the unconditional 60-day money back guarantee. This guarantee does not apply to TurboTax Online or the TurboTax Mobile App.
4. You will need to select if you purchased TurboTax directly from the TurboTax website.
4a. If you did, you will have to identify if you purchased a physical CD or download. If you purchased the CD, you will need to send a copy of the TurboTax order form and receipt to their shipping or mailing address. After they receive the forms, it will take five to nine business days to process.

4b. If you downloaded the software, you will have to provide the order number and the order date. If your order date is in the 60-day window, you are eligible for a refund and only have to fill out your order details. Your order will be processed and a refund issued.
4c. If you do not have your order number, TurboTax will not process your refund request. However, you can easily find your order number. Check your confirmation email that you would have received from TurboTax Customer Service (the email address is No_Reply@notifications.intuit.com). Or, you can search for your order number here: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/order-status/. Once you have the order number, go back to the previous refund page and choose 'yes' on you have the order number. Follow instructions in step 4b.
5a. If you purchased a TurboTax from a retailer, the process will be slightly different depending on if you purchased a CD or it online via another retailer.
5a. If you purchased the TurboTax CD via a retailer, you will need to send the copy of the TurboTax purchase with a dated receipt to one of the same addresses supplied above in step 4a.
5b. If you purchased the TurboTax software online via a retailer, send a copy of the email receipt (order confirmation email) to firstname.lastname@example.org with a request for a refund. After receiving the request, TurboTax will take six to eight weeks to process the refund.
