US Customs and Border Protection: Can I travel with an error on my Green Card?

A simple 2 step guide for solving this common US Customs and Border Protection problem quickly and effectively by GetHuman

Hi, from my research, it appears that your ability travel depends on how significant the error is. If there is a small typo or your gender is wrong, it may not be a problem. Ultimately, you should send it back for a new card. Clearly identify the mistake when sending it back. Keep a copy of the card before you send it.

There is no fee when it is their mistake, but you will have many problems in the future with a mistake on the card. New Jersey motor vehicles will not give you a license for starters. If you need to travel before getting a new card make an infopass appointment for a stamp in your passport. Hope this helps!
