If you receive error messages stating that your email address is already in use, check to ensure that you haven't registered your account twice. You should only have one account for both Uber Eats and rides. If your email is being used by another Uber account, you can report the matter to Uber. They will investigate the matter and help you. Follow these steps to report that your email is being used by another Uber account.
1. Open the Uber help page
2. Enter the phone number and email address associated with your account
3. Enter another email address that you may have used
4. Enter the email address that Uber can use to contact you
5. Click the CAPTCHA box and then 'Send'
Uber will investigate the matter and get back to you as soon as possible. Usually, they will respond within two days. Respond to their email as soon as you can. In your response email, be as clear about your problem as possible. They will unblock your account as soon as possible. If you still experience problems, contact them again and ask for help. If two accounts have the same email address, they will be merged.
If your email address is almost the same as that of a different Uber driver, you may receive emails about their trips. In such cases, you may need to change your email address. Dots aren't usually counted as part of your account name. If for example, your email address is email.address@, it is considered similar to emailaddress@. Uber can't do anything about it.
If Someone Opens an Account with Your Email Address
You may be concerned if someone uses your email address to open an Uber account. However, it poses no risk other than the inconvenience. You will receive Uber trips sent to your email address.
However, Uber does not monitor your account through your email address. Instead, they use your phone number. Uber doesn't allow more than one phone number per account.
If someone used your phone number to create an Uber account without your consent, you can't use the same phone number to create an Uber account. You would be receiving calls that you don't know about from drivers.
There is no option to speak directly with an Uber customer service agent. The only way to contact Uber is on the help desk. The option allows you to get answers from members of the public as well as the customer service agents. The help desk covers issue-specific topics. It addresses some of the most common problems that Uber users experience. When looking through the help pages, you may find yourself going back and forth with a customer support agent. They may direct you to continue your communication via email. If you end up communicating through email, you may need to send a few emails back and forth before getting the help you need.

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Uber in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What Do I Do If My Email Is Being Used by Another Uber Account? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
