How To Set Up Verizon Prepaid Service on an Android Phone

If you have an Android phone, follow these instructions to set up prepaid service:

  1. Turn on your phone.
  2. Tap on Activate.
  3. Choose the state you live in from the list or enter your ZIP Code.
  4. Tap on Next.
  5. Select an area code from the list.
  6. Tap on Next.
  7. Check over the terms of the prepaid plan.
  8. Tap on Next.
  9. Enter your name and the other personal information required in the appropriate text fields.
  10. Enter a User ID for your new service.
  11. Enter a password for your new service.
  12. Enter a security code.
  13. Enter a security question and answer.
  14. Select a credit card, debit card, or refill card to pay for your service.
  15. Enter the required payment information.
  16. Tap on Next.
  17. Tap on OK.
  18. Wait 15 minutes.
  19. Place a call to anyone to complete the activation process.

Please note that if you don't place a call within 60 days, your prepaid service will be canceled, and the money in your account will be forfeited.

How To Set Up Verizon Prepaid Service on an iPhone

If you have an iPhone, follow these instructions to set up prepaid service:

  1. Open the phone's SIM card tray.
  2. Write down the 20-digit ID located on your Verizon Nano SIM card.
  3. Install the Verizon Nano SIM card.
  4. Call (866) 893-7723 from a different phone than the one you are trying to get prepaid service on.
  5. Say that you want to activate a prepaid service on your iPhone when asked.
  6. Provide the 20-digit SIM ID when asked.
  7. Provide your ZIP Code when asked.
  8. Enter your credit or debit card information, or a Verizon refill PIN, when asked for payment information.
  9. Write down your new phone number.
  10. Write down your new Account Security Code.
  11. Wait 15 minutes.
  12. Turn the phone on if it is off. Restart it if it is on.
  13. Select a wireless network.
  14. Enter the password.
  15. Follow the instructions you are given.
  16. Place a call to complete the activation process.

If you don't place a call within 60 days, you will lose your money and the service.

How To Set Up Verizon Prepaid Service on Another Phone

Even if you don't have an Android or iPhone, you may still be able to get Verizon's prepaid service on it. To find out, visit Verizon's Bring Your Own Device page and enter the information for your device. If you are told that you can use your device with Verizon plans, select Join Verizon to sign up for a new Verizon prepaid plan. Select I'm with Verizon if you already have a prepaid plan. Follow the instructions to set up the plan on your device. Place a call within 60 days to finish activation.
