Your Vonage bill just arrived, and you found a disagreeable charge. Should you dispute the charge or pay the bill? You've heard this question before, and it's not an easy one to answer. So how do you dispute a bill?

If you're having issues with your Vonage services, here are instructions on how you can dispute a bill with Vonage.

1. Log Into Your Online Account

If you have an Online Account, sign in to your account using the same username and password you used to access your billing account. If you don't know your username or password, contact Vonage customer support for help.

2. Check Call Activities

Click View Call Activity under Billing and Payment.

  • Select View Call Activity from the left side of the page, then select a phone number and billing cycle if applicable (if you don't know your account number, you can find it by logging in to your Vonage account and selecting Account).
  • A list of all calls will display. Select each call that has been charged incorrectly or is incorrect in any way.

3. Request Credit

At the bottom of the page, click Request Credit. The list of calls eligible for credit will be displayed. If you would like to request credit for a call that does not appear on this list, submit it via the contact form.

4. Click the Disputed Call

You will need to click the call in question to dispute a call.

  • Click on View Details.
  • Select Report Call as Fraudulent from the dropdown menu.
  • You will then see a summary of your dispute with an explanation.
  • You can enter more details about why you believe this is a fraud.

5. Enter a Reason

After choosing the Dispute Bill option, a prompt will ask you to enter a reason for requesting credit. If you have already filed a dispute with Vonage and want to add more information, select Add Information.

Otherwise, choose one of the following options:

  • I paid my bill but was not credited with all of my payments.
  • I requested a payment plan or deferred payment but was denied.
  • I lost service due to an error on Vonage's part.

6. Submit Your Dispute

After clicking the submit button, Vonage will notify you that it is reviewing your dispute. If the dispute is approved and you have already paid your bill, it will apply your credit to the next month's bill. Vonage will apply a credit to the most recent payment if you haven't paid yet.
