You use WeChat because it is a great online alternative to text messaging and the app is easy to use. However, you have tried to log into your account and cannot remember your password, so you need to recover your WeChat account. Fortunately, recovering your WeChat account is an easy process that can be completed via SMS or email.
To discover the easiest way to recover your WeChat account, read this helpful article.
The easiest way to recover your WeChat account is via SMS. To so do, simply open the WeChat app on your mobile device and click on the 'Login' button at the bottom of the home screen.
Then, select your region and enter the mobile number that is associated with your telephone. To continue, click on the 'Next' button. Then, rather than using your password to log in, select the 'Login Via SMS Verification Code' hyperlink.
You should now receive an SMS text message to the telephone number you have used to sign in. Enter the code as advised and click on the green 'Log In' button at the bottom of the screen.
Now, you can log in.
Once you have successfully logged in using your SMS code, use the 'Set Password' option to change your password to something you can remember.
Enter your new password as outlined in the app and click the 'Done' button in the top righthand corner of the screen.
You will now be able to log in using your new password.
Recovering your account via SMS is the easiest way to regain access to WeChat. However, if you would prefer to recover your account using the email address you used to sign up, this is also possible.
First, visit the WeChat app and click on the green 'Login' button on the home screen. Then, when you reach the login screen, click on the 'Login Via WeChat ID/Email/QQ ID' hyperlink underneath the 'Mobile Number' entry box.
Then, on the next screen, select the blue 'Unable to Log In' option. You then need to select the 'Email Linked' option, enter your email address, and tap the 'Next' button.
Shortly afterward, you should receive an email to your linked account. Open the email and follow the password reset instructions provided to recover your account. Once you have completed this process, you will be able to sign in to your WeChat account.
If after carefully following the step in this guide you still can not recover your WeChat account, you will need to contact the WeChat customer service team. The WeChat customer service representatives will be able to help you access your account and recover your password.
