YouTube: How do I add clickable links to my video?

A simple 12 step guide for solving this common YouTube problem quickly and effectively by GetHuman

Open the YouTube site in your browser and log in to your user account.

Click the menu button next to your username on the top, right corner of the screen. Click "My Videos."

Click the video that you wish to add the link to.

Click "Edit Annotations" on the top toolbar.

Drag the video slider to the point in the video where you want the link to appear.

Click the "Add annotation" menu and select an annotation type to add. The "Speech Bubble," "Note" and "Spotlight" annotations all support linking.

Drag and drop the annotation box to where you wish the link to appear on-screen.

Enter the text that you wish to appear in your annotation in the input box on the right panel. Adjust font size, color and background color with the three menus below the input box.

Click the "Link" checkbox.

  • Click the menu to the right of the "Link" checkbox and select the type of link you wish to add.

Enter the link in the input box below the menu.

Click the "Publish" button at the top, right corner of the screen.
